If you’re having a challenge to regain peace at the end of the day, I suggest you try the powers of essential oils.

Having a long and hectic day? Here are creative ways to tone down and learn how to use calming essential oils, especially for moms!

Using Calming Essential Oils

Here are five doTERRA essential oils that are excellent for calming the senses and helping you find your zen.

Lavender Essential Oil



Lavender is a classic favorite among essential oils for its soothing and calming properties. Known for its ability to reduce stress and anxiety, lavender can help you relax after a long day. 

Whether you diffuse it in the air, add a few drops to your bath, or apply it to your wrists, lavender can create a tranquil atmosphere perfect for winding down.

Here’s a simple and luxurious lavender bath recipe to help you relax and rejuvenate.



Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Epsom salt
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 10 drops Lavender essential oil
  • Optional: Dried lavender flowers for extra fragrance and a touch of luxury
Instructions:
  1. In a bowl, combine the Epsom salt and baking soda. These ingredients work together to soothe muscles and soften skin.
  2. Add 10 drops of Lavender essential oil to the salt and baking soda mixture. Stir well to ensure the essential oil is evenly distributed.
  3. Optional: If you have dried lavender flowers, add a handful to the mixture for extra fragrance and a beautiful visual touch.
  4. Once the tub is filled, pour the mixture into the water and stir it around with your hand to help it dissolve.
  5. Step into the bath and soak for at least 20 minutes to allow the Epsom salt to work its magic on your muscles and the lavender to calm your senses.

Roman Chamomile Essential Oil


Roman Chamomile is another gentle, calming oil that’s perfect for moms. It has a sweet, floral scent that promotes relaxation and can help ease feelings of stress and irritability. 

Diffusing Roman Chamomile before bedtime can help you and your little ones settle into a peaceful night's sleep. Add 1-3 drop to 4-8 ounces of hot water for tea.

But did you know that Frankincense is also a fantastic, natural addition to your skincare routine? 

Here’s a serum recipe you can try yourself!




Rejuvenating Frankincense Facial Serum

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons jojoba oil (or another carrier oil like argan or sweet almond oil)
  • 6 drops Frankincense essential oil
  • 4 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops Geranium essential oil
Instructions
  1. In a small glass dropper bottle, combine the carrier oil and essential oils.
  2. Shake well to mix.
  3. Apply a few drops to your clean face and neck, gently massaging it in with upward motions.
  4. Use morning and night for best results.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

For a wonderful twist, add 3 drops Ylang Ylang, 3 drops Wild Orange, and 2 drops Geranium to your diffuser.

Or better yet, how about a relaxing and refreshing massage oil before bedtime? 




Here’s how you make one:

Refreshing Bergamot Massage Oil

Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons carrier oil (such as coconut oil or sweet almond oil)
  • 5 drops Bergamot essential oil
  • 3 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops Frankincense essential oil
Instructions:
  1. In a small bowl, mix the carrier oil with the essential oils.
