Pamper Your Skin with these 5 DIY Skincare Treatments

1. DIY Oil-Balancing Face Mask with Lavender and Bergamot

Time to make it a "me-minute" and get your glam on with this oil-balancing face mask! This DIY skincare treatment can help refresh and revive your skin.

Think Lavender essential oil for reducing skin imperfections and Bergamot essential oil for its skin-cleansing benefits.

Ingredients:
Instructions:
  1. Combine honey and sweet almond oil in a small bowl and stir with a metal spoon until smooth.
  2. Add the essential oils and keep stirring.
  3. Slowly add your facial clay in small amounts while stirring to keep a smooth consistency.
  4. Once you have reached the right consistency, use your fingers or a spoon to apply the mask to your face. Start at the center of your face and work towards your hairline.

Allow the mask to stay on your face until dry, usually around 20 minutes. To remove, lightly press a warm and damp cloth against your face and let the mask soften.

Finally, rinse your face with water and use a clean cloth to dry off any remaining clay.

2. DIY Brown Sugar Scrub with Ginger and Lime

As a busy mom, I know it can be hard to find time for simple things like pampering ourselves. But, taking a few minutes for a DIY sugar scrub makes a world of difference for my skin!

This easy-to-make scrub is perfect for exfoliating and softening our feet, hands, and arms one to two times a week. Give it a try, and let me know how it works for you!

Ingredients:
Instructions:
  1. Combine the ingredients in a bowl, stirring until well combined.
  2. Store the mixture in an airtight container.

When you’re ready to use it, scoop a small amount of the scrub onto the area you’d like to pamper. Rub it in for 30 seconds or until the sugar dissolves, and then rinse with warm water and pat dry. You’ll be left feeling refreshed and glowing!

If you're struggling with dry, flaky skin, consider adding a coarse sugar like Turbinado sugar to your DIY skincare treatment.

The larger grains in this type of sugar are great for exfoliating your skin and locking in moisture.

3. DIY Body Wash with your favorite essential oil

Are you a mom who wants to keep your family's body wash routine all-natural? Then why not give homemade body wash a try?

Not only can you customize the scent to your family's preferences with essential oils, but it's also a creative project you can do together.

Ingredients:
Instructions:
  1. Combine the ingredients in a glass pump bottle.
  2. Add your favorite essential oils
  3. Shake before each use, as the ingredients will separate.

I recommend using essential oils with relaxing scents like Lavender or dōTERRA Serenity®, which is already a blend of essential oils that help calm and relax feelings. It’s also a perfect addition to bath salts!

4. Moisturizing Lotion Bar with your choice of essential oil

These natural lotion bars can be made with healthy, nourishing ingredients like coconut oil, beeswax, cocoa butter, vitamin E oil, and your favorite essential oils. Not only will your skin feel deeply moisturized, but the essential oils will give your skin a natural glow.

Ingredients:
  • ⅔ cup beeswax
  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • ½ cup cocoa butter
  • 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
  • 15 drops of your favorite essential oils
Instructions:
  1. Measure all ingredients (except your essential oils) into a large glass jar.
  2. Place your jar in a saucepan filled with one to one and a half inches of boiling water.
  3. Stir the ingredients until they are fully combined, then remove the mixture from the heat.
  4. Allow the mixture to rest for three minutes before adding your essential oils.
  5. Pour the mixture into a silicone mold. Let the mixture harden for two to three hours, then carefully wrap it in plastic wrap and store it in a container for when you're ready to use it.
For this DIY skincare treatment, I swear by dōTERRA Citrus Bliss®! My skin always feels moisturized and rejuvenated after using this lotion bar. I also use this essential oil to make bath bombs.

For an added bonus, you can sprinkle some oatmeal into the bottom of the mold for an exfoliating effect.
